This requirement is to be completed by ALL individuals who wish to volunteer with the students or chaperone field trips.
1. We ask that you begin the clearance process with VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children for Adults training by registering and creating an account to complete the training and electronically sign the annual required acknowledgements. Please visit https://www.virtusonline.org/ to create your Safe Environment account. First time users must click the First-Time Registrant button to begin the registration process. Then, select Wilmington (Diocese) from the dropdown menu, select Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School as the location, and Volunteer as the role.
2.Watch the VIRTUS videos, Protecting God’s Children Awareness Session 4.0.
3.Once you have completed your registration, online training and acknowledgement of forms, our Office Manager, Anna Hoge, will process your account.
4.The applicant must contact Ms. Hoge at ahoge@mbscs.org or by calling 410-208-1600, to obtain an ENTRY CODE to access the online background application.
5.The entry code fee is $50 per applicant/application.
6.Once you have received the entry code, follow the link provided to the application site. https://www.cognitoforms.com/BaseEntInc/BackgroundScreeningVolunteer
7.Use the entry code to complete the on-line application. Online applications are submitted directly to InfoRetrieval Services for background investigations and processing. When the drop-down box comes up, select BLESSED SACRAMENT as the Parish/Department. DO NOT put the name of your parish or the Diocese of Wilmington. This will ensure that the MBS Office receives the clearance status.
8.Once approved and processed, your clearance status will be posted in your VIRTUS account. Login to your VIRTUS account to view your status.
9.The VIRTUS training is renewed every three years.
10.The Background Clearance is renewed every five years.
